Having walked the course yesterday it was extremely difficult to find any good ground - it was good-firm at best and faster than that in other parts - very few of the entries would have wanted that ground hence the lack of runners
Didn't manage to post the results as i was busy reporting and doing other stuff.
3, 4, 3, 6 in the Grimthorpe Gold Cup, 6 and 2.
A big crowd and some great finishes. Charles and Emma Clark train their three horse string at home on the farm. All three have won this season and two won today, Emir Sacree and then Blue Sans in the Grimthorpe. Charles told me afterwards he bought her privately from an ad on JFF!
Well done to Buckshot and Mrs Buckshot on winning the Restricted with What's the Solution.
The last race featured just two home bred youngsters who made their way round together somehow in very green and occasionally hair raising fashion before almost dead heating in a thriller. Koyli winning for Peter Maddison.
Remaining two races were a Cherry Coward double with Dotre Dame and Zhiguli.
My preview. Due to the IT issues I've sweat blood to get it done but thanks to the assistance of Phil Lodge at Weatherbys I managed. Phil is a star and I am extremely grateful for his swift and efficient attention to every issue I have encountered.
Update from Weatherbys regarding the IT issues which have disrupted the publishing of the entries for the two Maiden races at Sheriff Hutton. Contrary to as it has appeared, there are six scheduled races on Sunday not five.
