I'm a man of very few talents but typing fast is one of the few I do seem to possess!
I thought it was a proper point to point today. A very large and enthusiastic crowd turned out for some very exciting and competitive racing in a beautiful setting. There were lots of other attractions to entertain the visitors and the Hurworth do a top job. With 47 runners in six races and five of the six winners sent out by owner trainers nobody would go away today thinking it is a sport which is fading away just yet.
Anyone who thought Greater Glory was the fastest thing up the run in today must not have been there after the last as your overweight and middle aged correspondent had been far too busy talking way out in the country by the 8/15th, the open ditch (it is wonderful to be able to get so close to the action having the full run of the centre of the course) and suddenly remembered he had to get back to the winners enclosure in order to catch the winning connections. I don't know whether anyone else was impressed but I certainly impressed myself that I made it in time! 😂😂
Cullin Hills lead them along but as they turned for home she faced a two pronged challenge and it was Summerville Boy who found the most in another great finish.
A typical JD waiting ride. Came to challenge about 2 out and went right away.
Race 2 Restricted
1 Greater Glory R Howarth 7/2
2 The Village Way J Dawson 7/4
3 Great Notions W Easterby 9/4
8 ran 1/2L 1L T 7.05
What a race! The finish was more like a 6 furlong flat handicap with 6 or 7 challenging at the last. The winner was given a very cool ride by Rosie Howarth who swooped late. There won't be many better finishes anywhere this season and the huge crowd got their money's worth.

The report from Saturday's meeting.
Great to catch-up with Maelstrom and Graysonscolumn for the first time this season.
As a PRO myself, I’m amazed that Mark has the time to post the results after each race as well as do his press duties - no way I could do that!
Thank you Maelstrom brilliant as always 😎
