Thanks to Gordonwp, Nick Luck, Kempton racecourse, Charlotte (ToT) and Richard for making it such an enjoyable day at Kempton yesterday. Also to all the rest of the forum who were there and those who contributed to make the whole venture so successful.
I may have confused some of you into thinking that when I closed "THE COMPETITION" thread that it meant that the "SPONSORSHIP" thread had also closed. This is definitely not the case and you are still able to donate here https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/robert-mackenzie-3?utm_term=yqaR5ryXW if you wish and see if we can make NINE !!! please see the map below and I think you will agree that the TEAM could not have got them spaced out any more evenly. Remember if you do or have donated you will go into the Draw for a free ticket or a reduced entry fee at any of our races 😉
Personally l don’t think we should call the hunter chases "Jumping for fun" as that website is now defunct, surely we should be calling them "Pointingpointers.co.uk" to get more traction to our new home and expand the pointing community bigger than before, also Ben has done alot in setting up this new website lets make this website bigger and better than JFF as a member 20 years was very helpful
Thats great!!
By a total coincidence I am planning to go to Ludow on the 4th Feb
and would love to go to Catterick and Hexham again.
Happy to pay if over subscribed
Pleased to announce that I have just booked sponsorship for the Hunterchase at Ludlow on 5th February 2025 which means thanks to all our supporters we are now Sponsoring 8 !!! ......could we possibly do 9 could we ??? 😎
Great effort again. Can you consider me for Leicester and Stratford please.
Well done Gordon. I would like to be considered for Leicester, Catterick, Fakenham and Stratford. Kate (Lady Ashby) would also come to Fakenham.
Count me in for Fakenham again please Gordon. I will do the photos again if you wish. Getting a new camera for Christmas!!
Hot off the press this morning we have now added Wincanton 26/02/25 to the list !! Which gives us a reasonable coverage geographically.
If we have one more push we are not that far off of adding another which would make a record for this "Barmy" venture 😎
Leicester 13/2
Wincanton 26/02/25
Catterick 5/3 with NL
Fakenham 14/3
Kempton 1/4 with NL
Hexham 14/4
Stratford 30/5 - Restricted final
I will not be able to go to Fakenham.
We have made some changes to our previous list of races as the Fakenham race has been moved to a date which clashed with one we are sponsoring at Kempton Park therefore we will sponsor Fakenham 14/03/25. Taunton have asked us to relinqish our race 18th February as the have someone who wished to sponsor the whole card and we have agreed to stand down.
Further race(s) will to added shortly.
Leicester 13/2
Catterick 5/3 with NL
Fakenham 14/3
Kempton 1/4 with NL
Hexham 14/4
Stratford 30/5 - Restricted final
Just in time to secure our sponsorship title on the races before the planner was put to bed (today) we now have signed up to seven, yes seven!, hunterchases. Five from the crowdfunding and two more that have been funded by Nick Luck, who was very keen to support and will run under his name jointly with our sponsorship title. There is a mixture of grassroots, novice and open ones as last year.
The races are as follows:
Leicester 13/2
Taunton 18/2
Catterick 5/3 with NL
Kempton 1/4 with NL
Hexham 14/4
Fakenham 6/5
Stratford 30/5 - Restricted final
Anyone who has donated should let us know if they would like to go in the draw for discounted/free tickets and a preferred meeting if they have one.
A huge cheer for Gordon’s barmy idea and let’s hope we can get more conversations going about pointing being the grassroots of National Hunt racing.
Trevada (L) and Precious Bounty in action at Fakenham on May 7th in our sponsored hunter chase last season. Trevada ridden by Zac Baker and trained by Francesca Poste was the winner.
I have made a donation direct to Bob's account
Hope we can get to Catterick again
We have now set up a new just giving page and we will be fundraising on both pointing forums and in social media. Thank you to all those who have donated previously...it would be fantastic if we could meet or exceed last years 7 sponsored races. The link is https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/robert-mackenzie-3?utm_term=yqaR5ryXW If anyone would like to donate directly my details are the same..

Good idea get everyone back from JFF and promote this new website with racing sponsorship
This cannot go unmentioned ……..today we received a very large donation the biggest ever since the sponsorship scheme has been running it was previously on the much missed Jumping For Fun site.
HOBO has donated £500 !!
