Westher fine for mid December. Decent crowd and five books operating.
Race 1 4 and 5yo Maiden. 2m4f
1 Batsman Jack T Chatfield Roberts 5/1 2 Great Notions J Dawson 7/2
3 First Time Caller T Easterby 6/1
2L 1L T 5.56 10 ran
Batsman Jack was always at the head of affairs. Approaching the home turn odds on fav George Darling ranged up looking the winner but his run petered out and he was run out of the places. The second and third plus close fourth Dear Dot all look like they could soon be finding a race.
Thank you Maelstrom for keeping us all informed even if you did look frozen
Race 6 4 and 5yo flat race. 1 Fayrely Fruitful H Crow 5/4 2 Brooklynese P Barlow 3/1 3 Phantoms Cave N Orpwood 15/2 . 2L 3 1/2L 8 ran The winner was the only one with previous experience. Went for home a good way out and saw it out well.
Race 5 5yo and over Conditions level 3 2m4f 1 Kingrullah L Fenwick 5/1 2 Killer Clown D White 2/1 3 West Lawn C Tailford 5/2 2 1/2L 4 1/2L 12 ran
Turning for home Killer Clown had a decent lead and looked like taking all the catching. Kingrullah slowly but surely reeled him in and took the lead on the run in to win going away.
Race 4 Mixed Open 1 Wild Romance S Halton 5/1 2 Dundrum Wood M Reeve 4/1 3 Bardenstown Lad P Cawley 11/10 3L 13L T 6.32 14 ran.
Another race which became a two horse battle in the closing stages. Wild Romance is extremely tough and once again ground it out to come out on top just as she had done at Hexham two weeks ago.
Race 3 Resstricted 1 Bride Rovers Abu J Wright 2/1 2 Lou Marvellous T Easterby 3/1 3 Red Delta J Dawson 2/1 Sh Hd 8L T 6.38 10 ran
A very good quality race for the grade. Over the last it had come down to a straight fight between the first two and they had a right scrap up the run in with still nothing between them at the line.
Race 2 maiden 6yo and over.
1 Slaney Opera J Wright 5/2
2 The Village Way J Dawson 11/10
3 Benefact T Easterby 4/1
T 6.50 8 ran.
Six still held a chance two out. Slaney Opera fairly sprinted away from them to win very nicely.
